We Stayed Where the Kardashians Stayed (Costa Rica - The Springs!)

There's waking up to a nice view… and then there's opening your curtains to a perfect cone-shaped volcano towering over the rainforest. That was our view every single morning at The Springs Resort in Costa Rica — and yes, it's the same resort the Kardashians have stayed at (they even filmed part of Keeping Up with the Kardashians here). Fancy company for our little crew! 😄

First, the not-so-glamorous part 😂

Let's start with the worst part of the trip, because it's too good not to share: the drive from the airport to the resort. Several hours. On windy, winding mountain roads. By the time we finally pulled up, we had a whole new understanding of why the Kardashians reportedly helicoptered straight from the airport to the resort — noted, and deeply respected. In full transparency, we did have one pull-over for the babysitter to throw up.

Would I do that drive again for this place? Honestly… yes…but maybe when I have enough money for a private helicopter ride.

The resort

The Springs was gorgeous. One thing to know going in: it's not all-inclusive, so meals and drinks are extra — but the food was genuinely delicious, so we happily made peace with it. We stayed in a two-bedroom family suite that faced the volcano, which was perfect for us: room for everyone to spread out, plus that view.

The hot springs (our absolute favorite!)

Okay, the hot springs. Incredible. We could've spent the whole trip just soaking. The property is dotted with volcano-warmed pools, and the best part for our crew — there's a slide that takes you from one hot spring down into another. The entire family was obsessed.

Adventure right next door

Part of what makes The Springs so great for families is that it's attached to a whole activities area — white water rafting, an animal sanctuary/zoo-type facility, and more — just a short walk or shuttle ride away. You could fill days here without ever leaving. In fact, plenty of people who aren't even staying at the resort buy day passes just to access the activity side.

Day trip: La Fortuna Waterfall

One day we took our rental car out to La Fortuna Waterfall. Fair warning: SO many steps down to the bottom (and, of course, right back up). The payoff is stunning — but we were so glad we brought the baby carrier. I can't imagine doing all those stairs with a little one otherwise. Wear real shoes and channel your inner stair-master.

Would we go back?

In a heartbeat. Between the volcano views, that hot spring slide, and the adventures right next door, The Springs gave us the kind of family trip we still talk about.
